Tell the council how we can best spend £5,000 for children with disabilities!

Are you caring for or working with a child or young person with a disability? If so, perhaps you could share your views about their needs and how communities, in general, could be more inclusive and welcoming towards them. Not just a conversation, as TBC has some specific funding, £5,000, available to help support and promote this. The council wants to work with parents and carers, alongside professionals, to develop plans for finding solutions.

The money could be used for many things ranging from activities which help children with disabilities get involved, to a training or development activity.

Here are three short questions to think about:

  • What are the current barriers to children with disabilities being included in local community settings and groups that should be accessible to all?
  • How do you feel these barriers could be addressed? i.e. training, groups, support etc
  • Are there particular geographical areas where this is a significant issue?

If you would like to share your views, please contact , before the 6 November 2012, and if you would like to be informed of the final outcome, please provide your contact details.

Also, if you would like to discuss anything further or to have more information, please contact Molly Macleod on 01452 328235 or Anj Patel on 01684 272190.
